Non-Traditional Research Outputs
Non-Traditional Research Outputs (NTROs) are an important type of research output included in Elements and DRO. The Australian Research Council (ARC) recognises six categories of NTROs:
- Original creative works
- Live performance of creative works
- Recorded/rendered creative works
- Curated or produced substantial public exhibitions and events
- Research reports for an external body
- Portfolios

NTROs generally are not recorded in traditional academic databases, and Elements is unable to harvest data about them. For this reason, you or one of your Deakin co-authors will need to manually enter them into Elements. Unlike Traditional Research Outputs (TROs), the Library will not be able to source related files to attach to your NTRO. This means it is your responsibility to upload relevant file attachments.
