This agreement allows Deakin corresponding authors to publish in most of Emerald’s hybrid and gold journals without needing to pay an article processing charge (APC).

This agreement is available for articles accepted from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025.

This is an uncapped agreement. There is no limit to the number of articles that can be published open access.

How to use this agreement

• Check the journal list to see if your chosen journal is included
• Check that your article is an eligible type – generally most types of research articles are eligible, but editorials, notes, book reviews etc. are not. Check the eligible article list on CAUL’s guide to the Emerald agreement
• Use your Deakin email address
• Use your Deakin affiliation
