3. Undertake preliminary research
Having mapped out your search plan, choose a database to do some preliminary research in. Explore these three law guides to get an idea of which database is most relevant to start with:
Using your search planner as a guide, keep a record of which database you have searched in and the terms you have used. This will save you time when repeating the same search in another database.
Your Task
Utilising the search terms that you created in your search planner. Take a few of those key word concepts and try it out in one of the relevant databases that you have found.
Start with a few broad concepts first. If you get too many results you can refine by adding more concepts.
