Reviewing your bio

You should aim to regularly review and update your biography, especially after any significant changes or achievements. At minimum your bio should be reviewed and updated annually.

Review the Content guidelines for tips and hints on how to write an engaging biography. It should not be a summary of your CV. It’s an opportunity for you to present yourself and your personality as a researcher to a wide audience. The bio provides the opportunity to express the inspirations and motivations for your work, what gives you the greatest satisfaction, what your proudest achievements are thus far, and your future aspirations.

Tone and formatting

To make the most of your profile consider these tips:

  • Your free-text sections should be written in the first person, in a conversational tone and engaging style
  • Get the most value from the keyword search function by including your specialties (whether subject area, methodology, etc.) in your free text sections.
  • Your profile should always be current, so be sure to update it to reflect any changes in your professional journey, upon commencement of a new funding arrangement or research project, or to highlight any special achievements or research outcomes.

Before updating any information in your profile, remember to consult the Content guidelines.
