Jade (BarNet)
Jade (Judgments and Decisions Enhanced) is both a case citator and a current awareness service that collects recent decisions of selected Australian Courts and Tribunals.
With Jade you can:
- link to the full-text of the judgment on Jade
- view the Citation Report for relevant case details such as judges, date of judgment, citation and jurisdiction
- view litigation history, cases cited, and legislation judicially considered by the case
- view subsequent case considerations to a paragraph level.
Searching Jade
The basic search functions for Jade are free to use.
Jade has a search bar at the top of the page. You can start typing in the case name that you are looking for and a drop-down menu will appear. An explanation of how to enter your search terms is available on the Jade Help sheet website.
Using the CaseTrace feature
CaseTrace displays citation information, litigation history and the ability to download the original document. The Cited sections field annotates where a specific paragraph from a judgment has been cited in later decisions.
