Finding conference materials

Conference materials can include:

  • conference abstracts associated with presentations
  • research posters
  • conference papers accompanying presentations.

These are published collectively as proceedings. Proceedings can often be located on conference websites under publications or previous conferences.

Note

Researchers often present novel or emerging discoveries at conferences before their research is written into more traditional articles. This means that conference materials can contain research not yet available elsewhere.

Where to find conference materials

Some conference materials are indexed in databases such as Scopus or Web of Science, and they may be included in institutional repositories. Use search engines to find specific conference websites – these often contain past conference abstracts and papers, and sometimes recordings of presentations.
