About this module

Welcome to our module on the basics of Generative Artificial Intelligence (genAI). This module delves into the fascinating realm of genAI, exploring everyday use, and how you might apply it in your studies at Deakin. We will focus on the responsible use of genAI tools and how to evaluate and use them to strengthen your learning.

The Big Question

This module is an introduction into genAI and using it throughout your studies. Ask yourself 'How am I able to use genAI in my studies?'

This is a complex question, because it can depend on what genAI tools you use and how you use them. Before you delve into the nitty gritty of genAI click on the arrows in the presentation below to explore some real-world examples, and reflect on how you might use genAI tools to enhance your learning.
 

Purpose of this module

Answering the question on how am I able to use genAI in my studies relies on understanding what genAI tools can do, when you are allowed to use them at Deakin, and how to apply your critical thinking skills whilst using them.
