6. AI Literacy

Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a technology is the application of statistical estimation and optimization. Recent technological examples include chatbots such as ChatGPT or Bard. These tools allow users to input prompts to generate content. Content generated by these tools is a machine creation and therefore may be inaccurate. This means critical thinking skills are essential to evaluate the accuracy of what has been generated.

Caution

Be aware that content produced by generative AI needs to be evaluated in the same way as content gathered from other information resources. Try applying the SIFT method to evaluate content created by generative AI to see if it is credible to use at university.
