Citing and referencing Indigenous knowledges

About this guide 

This guide has been designed based on the The Indigenous Knowledge Attribution Toolkit (IKAT) to encourage Deakin teaching staff and undergraduate students to consider incorporating Indigenous knowledges and perspectives into their coursework.

The IKAT assists with considering Indigenous knowledges and perspectives in your work, and provides guidance to critically analyse and reference materials by Indigenous authors or those that cite Indigenous knowledge.

Attribution and acknowledgement 

Crediting creators or attributing content is a core part of both academic integrity and of being a digital citizen more broadly. This guide has been informed by the following resource:
