Referencing for Health

Referencing styles

Varied referencing styles are used across different research and discipline areas.

Faculty of Health First Year students are recommended to use either :

  • APA 7 (author date style) referencing style

  • Vancouver (numbered style) referencing style - used particularly in Medicine.

These styles include templates for a wide variety of resource types and are easy to follow.  They are also commonly used in Health publications.

After First Year, Health units may use a range of referencing styles depending on the conventions of the discipline.
