Module 1: Copyright Basics

What is copyright?

When a person creates something original, they automatically get legal rights to control its use. This is called copyright.

Copyright is a long-lasting type of Intellectual Property (IP) which the creator can transfer and license. If you wish to use someone else's copyright work, you need to rely on permission from the copyright owner or rely on a copyright exception.
