How to find your Unit Reading List

The best place to get started is to find your Unit Reading List. This is the easiest way to get access to your key readings for the unit.

You can access your Reading List by either:

  1. Searching for your unit code in Deakin's Reading Lists site.
  2. Typing your unit code into Deakin Library search
  3. Directly through your Unit site which have the Reading List embedded.

The unit code structure for most standard units is 3 letters followed by 3 digits.

Access a reading

To access a reading select the View Online button, located on the right of the item record.

For readings that are not an online resource you instead select the title to view availability, then find that resource on the shelf in the Library.

Searching the Reading List

There are few ways to navigate through the Reading List.

  1. Use the Search bar in the top right corner of your reading list to search the list. This is helpful to find a particular book or author.
  2. Use the Table of Contents drop-down menu in the top left of your reading list. This is helpful for quick navigation to sections in the reading list, such as weekly or concept-based readings.
  3. Use the Type drop-down menu button on the top left. This is helpful for quickly finding a specific article or book chapter.

Tip

You can adjust the citation style of items on your Unit Reading list, but the referencing is machine generated and can be incorrect. Please be aware of this if referencing during your assessments. Always check over the details using your own knowledge of referencing
