Browsing Halsbury's Laws of Australia

  1. Go to the Halsbury’s Laws of Australia link via the Library's A-Z databases.
  2. On the Halsbury’s Laws of Australia Table of Contents page browse for the subject heading you are researching. Click on the + signs next to the relevant subject heading to expand the headings and then select the relevant sub-heading title link.


Searching Halsbury's Laws of Australia

  1. Go to the Halsbury’s Laws of Australia link via the Library's A-Z databases.
  2. On the Halsbury’s Laws of Australia Table of Contents page select Advanced Search


     
  3. As you enter your search terms into your chosen fields they will display in the top search bar. Select the magnifying glass icon next to the search bar to run the search.

 

Note

Take note of the Use Connectors and add your search terms in the search boxes and then click on Search. This example searches for the term lawyer and the phrase “duty of confidentiality” in the Terms box.
 


Viewing Halsbury's Laws of Australia content

  1. From the search results screen, select the title of an entry to view the full text.


     
  2. Once you are viewing the full text of an encyclopaedia entry, you can select the Table of Contents to view where you are located within this Chapter title. This gives you the opportunity to browse up or down to other paragraph numbers within this Chapter title.

     

    Note

    The square brackets are paragraph numbers. Content in Halsbury’s Laws of Australia is organised by paragraph numbers.
